Year 5 and 6 had a great afternoon at Lake District Audi: they made a promotional video for the Audi R8, matched cars to customers and designed their own car of the future. They even got a goody bag, a special lanyard and a couple of teddy prizes for the best video and design. I think we all want an R8 now!

Today we had a great day in the sunshine learning about the wildlife in the woodland and the importance of conserving and protecting it. We heard a wren and a cuckoo, and year 6 nearly got a glimpse of a deer (it was too fast for us). It was interesting to learn about the different types of flowers and spot some rare ones. Then some of us had a go at cutting back some of the branches overhanging the path. We are looking forward to continuing our conservation work another day!

Today we had BAE systems in to do robotics with us. Lots of computing skills were being used to complete the challenges as well as maths.

We had a fabulous time on our trip to Liverpool. We started our day by visiting The World Museum which had some fantastic Egyptian artefacts. After that,  we made our way to the  Anglican Cathedral  which was an amazing building both inside and outside. Soon after that, we went to the Metropolitan Cathedral which was also stunning.

Key Stage 2 have produced some beautiful art work. First, we used watercolours to paint a galaxy. Then we used marbling to make some awesome effects and cut these into planets. Next, we carefully thought about the composition of each piece when gluing our planets on. We think they are out of this world!

We had a great time at Young Voices (the largest school choir) last night performing the songs and dance moves that we have been learning since September.

Year 5 and 6 used their computing skills today to program a Sphero to navigate through a maze they had created.

In science this week, we have been learning about friction. We did an experiment using toy cars and different surfaces to see which surface had the most resistance.
