PSHE

At Lindale, we understand that pupils must be provided with an education that prepares them for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of adult life. A key part of this relates to relationships and health education, which must be delivered to every primary-aged pupil. Our main focus is on teaching the fundamental building blocks and characteristics of positive relationships, with particular reference to friendships, family relationships, and relationships with other children and with adults.

Relationships education focusses on giving pupils the knowledge they need to make informed decisions about their wellbeing, health and relationships, and to build their self-efficacy. Health education focusses on equipping pupils with the knowledge they need to make good decisions about their own health and wellbeing. The Heart Smart programme is the key resource used in the delivery of these skills.

HeartSmart is a resource to enrich our delivery of PSHE. It’s aim is to build resilience, strengthen emotional intelligence and develop active empathy in the hearts of our children. Fundamentally it is about loving and accepting ourselves as well as loving and responding to others.

British Values

Each week we connect to a British Value. Show your pupils these values in action.  The British government requires all schools in England to promote British Values to children, to prepare them for life in modern Britain. The four British Values are: democracy, rule of law, respect and tolerance and individual liberty.   By exploring and debating topical issues, pupils will also exercise British Values by learning to respect and tolerate the views of people around them.
